In the course of a match between the German national blind soccerteam and their own Under 21 national team,on Saturday 28th of May, it was announced that the European Championship in blindsoccer will be taking place in Berlin.

Just after the „Oldies“ defeated their younger team mates with a close 1:0, the parasports association of Berlin announced the staging of this huge event in blind soccer.

At the following press conference Klaas Brose (managing director BSB), Bernd Schulz (president BFV), Ullrich Pfisterer (national coach and Chairman of the subcomitee of IBSA) and Mulgheta Russom (striker of the German national team) were delighted to finally be able to let all the pressman know, that Berlin will be hosting the blind soccer European Championship.

The Parasports association will now form the local organizing committee and start their preperations.
